In nursing, evidence-based practice (EBP) is a blend of research findings, clinical skills, and patient choices (Skaggs et al., 2018). In clinical practice, nurses are pushed to adopt this problem-solving strategy to deliver individualized patient care. EBP includes information on evidence-based practices in practically all areas of nursing, such as direct patient care, workflow concerns, infection control, supply management, charting, and central line care, to name a few. EBP enables nurses to utilize the most recent research methods in real-world settings, such as direct patient care. With the nurse’s extensive knowledge and data on quality improvement, potential improvements to current processes that may result in better outcomes can be considered. EBP can improve patient care by focusing on known results. In a fast-paced industry like healthcare, it is crucial to remain current with the most recent research methodology.
Journals subject to peer review are one of the most reliable sources of evidence-based research. In reality, peer-reviewed publications are the most reputable source of study findings. They are the settings where researchers evaluate the efficacy of drugs, therapies, and behaviors and publish their findings (Schmidt & Brown, 2017). Peer-reviewed sources are those that have been evaluated for quality by experts and professionals in accordance with industry standards. Unlike many websites, peer-reviewed materials are examined prior to publication. This shows that the library’s collections are a more reliable source of information than the Internet. PubMed and CINAHL are two important evidence-based research tools. PubMed is a database of articles and papers covering a broad spectrum of biological and clinical research. Evidence-Based Practice is an advanced search option in CINAHL that restricts search results to articles from evidence-based journals, articles about evidence-based practice, articles about applying evidence-based practice to research, and research articles, including systematic reviews, clinical trials, and meta-analyses.

Skaggs, M. K. D., Daniels, J. F., Hodge, A. J., & DeCamp, V. L. (2018). Using the evidence-based practice service nursing bundle to increase patient satisfaction.
Journal of emergency nursing, 44(1), 37-45

Evidence-based practice illustrates the difference between on-the-job experience and research-based assessment and interventions that are done daily. The importance of EBP will stop healthcare professionals from providing care that is ritualistic and traditional. EBP can also determine the efficacy of the care provided and evaluate the care to ensure positive patient outcomes (Tappen,.R.M. 2015). One of the worst mindsets to have is that is how we have always done it or we have never done it that way before.
The most reliable evidence-based sources are peer-reviewed sources. Peer-reviewed sources have been reviewed by experts and professionals before they are published. Databases such as Credo, DynaMed, CINAHL, and ProQuest are all guaranteed to meet the highest quality standard.

I had no intention of contributing to the authoring of research articles for journal publication. However, the concept has long intrigued me. After participating in this program, I discovered that anything is achievable with the correct tools and education. Of course, I’m more prepared now, and I don’t consider it absurd or impossible to achieve. On the contrary, if tempted, I will undoubtedly submit a proposal. To get a competitive advantage, I would need to hone a few skills, but I am confident that with a little practice, I will be able to take that step that no longer looks so terrible or far away. Nursing is a dynamic profession that always presents new challenges. Nurses, as the largest population of healthcare workers, are better positioned to conduct evidence-based research in order to generate evidence-based interventions and solutions to nursing challenges (Sin & Bliquez, 2017).
Throughout the course, I learned a variety of things about writing a research proposal and a research report. A thorough research proposal, for example, should comprise a title, abstract, research context, research questions, research methodologies, research importance, and bibliography (University of Birmingham, 2021). Notably, the proposal should include the essential aims and questions that will lead the research. A description of the research techniques, including how you intend to conduct your study, should be included in the proposal. Fieldwork, interviews, and visits to certain libraries or archives could all be part of your strategy. Furthermore, the proposal should emphasize the distinctiveness of the research that the researcher proposes to do. As a result, the researcher should explain why their research is significant, such as how it builds on and adds to the present level of knowledge in the field or why it is timely to research their proposed topic.

Good afternoon Dr. Wright and class,
These past seven weeks have provided me with the foundation of gathering research to be able to submit for a proposal. I am confident enough that I would be able to submit a solid research proposal in my future if the opportunity should present itself. I believe that nursing is a profession where you never stop learning but you keep evolving and adapting to the most up to date changes and practices that arise. Concerns that I have still are the revision portion and the intimidation of my research being sent back multiple times extending the process. Although I know the review process is most beneficial to add substance and feedback, the waiting period and the unknown of what will be is still my point of concern.

Process Mapping Assignment

Introduction
This assignment will provide an opportunity to demonstrate what you have learned about process mapping.

Assignment #1 (10 points):

Write a narrative describing the process illustrated in the diagram below. Be sure to include every step in the process.

Assignment #2 (20 points)

Using the process described below, fill in the text boxes within the colored areas of the process map on the following page to illustrate the process narrative below. Be sure to give your diagram a descriptive title.

Students are required to prepare and submit registration forms. The administration reviews forms for completeness. Completed forms are sent to the registrar to verify all appropriate details. Incomplete forms are returned to the student.

The registrar will determine if minimum standards are met. If the minimum standards are not met, the students registration is rejected. The registrar prepares a rejection letter, sends it to the student, and the process ends.

Approved registrations are forwarded to faculty advisors for further evaluation. Faculty advisors make the final decision on admission. Based on the decision, Faculty Advisors will prepare acceptance or rejection letters to send to students and then the process ends.

Replace each of the Text items with the correct process step in the diagram on the next page.

Part #3 (30 points):

This assignments final part requires you to create a process diagram (in swim lane format with a process role in each lane) for a Coffee Caf. The assignment includes the simple concepts of ordering, making, and providing Coffee or Tea in a typical Caf. To keep the job manageable, the only drinks that are available are:
Coffee
Tea

Assume that the processes to order, prepare, and deliver the hot beverage are similar to those in any large coffee chain. The processes include:
Orders and cash are taken by the Serving Attendant / Cashier from the Customer;
Orders taken by the Serving Attendant / Cashier are passed to a Barista automatically and shown on a screen for fulfillment by a Barista;
There are separate processes for preparing tea and coffee;
Completed orders are provided to the Customer by the Barista;
The Barista can also request additional milk and coffee beans to be obtained from the storeroom by the kitchen hands or additional stock to be ordered by the Caf Manager; and
The Customer can select the Sugar or Sweetener of their choice from a serving bar, located at the point where Customers receive their beverage. There are two parts to this assignment:

Using Microsoft PowerPoint, create a process, swimlane diagram of the coffee caf process outlined above. Replicate the type of swimlane diagram discussed in the videos for this module entitled

Process Map.mp4
and used in assignment #2 above.

An example screenshot from the video is below.

Notes
: You should submit two documents to D2L. You should submit a Word document with parts #1 and #2 and a Powerpoint document with your diagram for part #3. Please also keep in mind that all process maps must have a title, swim lane titles, all steps connected, and every step, decision, and decision path labeled. Please name your PowerPoint file as follows:
